Design: the first impression

If the aesthetics resonate, your website has a fighting chance for a few more seconds of attention. Just enough time to make...

The promise

A good first impression

If you could benefit from a website that convinces people to do business with you, this is going to be the most important information you read:

Imagine sitting at your favorite restaurant... starring across the table at out-of-your-league beautiful. Your date asks, "so what's good here?" The goodnight kiss is already playing out in your mind. It would take their parole officer calling to interrupt the vibe. Even then, you may convince yourself parole isn't a deal breaker. "What are you on parole for?" you may ask.

Brain scans can see your decisions before you make them. Researchers are able to accurately predict, watching brain activity, how a participant will decide 11 seconds before the participant makes a decsion. This supports classic salesmenship: people buy on emotion and justify with logic. The emotional areas of the subconscious brain make the decision... then the logical parts of the thinking brain rationalize the decision. Hard to go against your gut feeling, isn't it.

A book is judged by its cover. Cognitive dissonance is the theory in psychology that helps explain this. Your brain cannot hold conflicting thoughts. You open the book feeling either good or bad about the book. You then look inside to confirm your belief. You much rather be right than wrong. Opinions are stubburn. Changing your mind would require admitting your were wrong. Seeing reasons to rationalize your feelings is much more obvious. Don't fight the uphill battle of an unattractive cover.

The rest is easy. Ignite desire by satisfying the rational mind. Give logical reasons why to believe your promise. Your promise already excited the emotional mind. Now you simply present the facts of your case. Be specific and don't exaggerate.

For exmaple: Websites by Prevail Design make a good first impression using a simple, elegant design that loads fast. Google rates the speed a perfection 100 score. You can verify this yourself using Google PageSpeed Insights. Speed is important to you for two reasons. First, a fast loading web page is a good user experience. Second, Google factors speed into its search algorithm. A half seceond delay can cause 25% website abandonment. You work too hard to lose business this quickly. Worse... Slow websites are ranked at the very bottom of Google search results -- hundreds of pages down -- where nobody will find you.

#23. Are you watching "the last dance" documentary on ESPN? If not, you should. Seeing that level of drive is inspiring. Not many people go all out, every day, with absolute belief in achieving success. Michael Jordan #23 refused to lose. While the team didn't win every game, Jordan never cheated anyone. If you went to see Michael Jordan play basketball, you witnessed greatness. Jordan once dropped 38 points while suffering from flu-like symptoms.

Your opportunity. The secret to getting what you want is helping enough people get what they want. If your website can help others get something they want -- and you are ready to give it a #23 effort -- this opportunity is for you. This is your chance at a good first impression. Not only a website you can be proud to show family and friends... but a website that generates real paying customers. The hard technical work will be done for you. You won't waste a second struggling with any frustrating software. That will all be handled for you. You just pick and arrange English words following the proven process of classic salesmanship.

$39 monthly. That is ALL you pay. There is no large upfront fee nor commitment past the first month. Obviously the initial cost of helping you make a good first impression is steep. So there must be a certain level of confidence in you. A longterm relationship has to result for there ever to be a penny profit -- requiring you to succeed. For this reason, you must have high ethical standards, be able to help others get something they want, and have the #23 drive to deliver results. If this describes you, you are encouraged to apply. Applications open May 1st and are due no later than midnight May 10th. Decisions will be emailed May 20th.

May 1st, 2020. Please return here May 1st to submit the application at no cost nor obligation.
